You start at the bandstand in the Park and walk almost four kilometres through the village where Vincent van Gogh moved in with his parents in December 1883. He stayed two years and made almost a quarter of everything he would ever paint. Along the way eleven riddles arrive on WhatsApp. Not one of them can be solved from the sofa: the answer is always somewhere around you, on a wall, a stone or a little sign you would otherwise have walked straight past.

The route takes you past the Clemens church at the edge of the Park, past Vincent himself with a sketchbook under his arm, and past the vicarage on the Berg where he lived with his parents. Through the old alleys and the Beekstraat you reach the little church where his father preached, and the knight leaning on his sword. Then you walk out of the village, along a farm road between the fields, to the windmill he drew seven times. The way back leads past the old weaving factory and the green with the lime trees. You finish in the Park, at the table of The Potato Eaters.

There is a break halfway, at Weverkeshof, a village farm with pigs, goats and chickens wandering about. Entry is free, there is a terrace and there are toilets. That time does not count towards your finishing time, so you can sit down for a while before you walk on.

Getting stuck is not a problem. Every riddle comes with two hints, and if it still will not come, the bot gives you the answer and you walk on. At the end you see how fast you were compared with everyone who walked this route before you.
